Excel allow users to make comments for any cells in the spreadsheet. By default, those comments are visual only when the cell have been hovered by the mouse. Other time, Excel simply place a red triangle on the top-right corner to indicate there is a comment for the cell.

ADD COMMENT
Following is the steps to add a comment in Excel.
- Go to the cell that want to insert a comment
- Right click (alternative click) the cell, then the alternative menu will be displayed
- Click “Insert Comment”
- Enter the comment.
- You can change the size of the comment by moving any one of those rectangle on the side of the comment
- Click anywhere outside the comment after entered the comment.
The comment has been added to the cell.
EDIT COMMENT
Following is the steps to edit a comment in Excel.
- Go to the cell where the comment is marked
- Right click (alternative click) the cell, then the alternative menu will be displayed
- Click “Edit Comment”
- Edit the comment.
- You can change the size of the comment by moving any one of those rectangle on the side of the comment
- Click anywhere outside the comment after entered the comment.
DELETE COMMENT
Following is the steps to edit a comment in Excel.
- Go to the cell where the comment is marked
- Right click (alternative click) the cell, then the alternative menu will be displayed
- Click “Delete Comment”
- The comment will be deleted.
ALWAYS SHOW COMMENT
As mentioned, by default, the comment will be shown only when the cell was being hovered. However, there is also an option to always show the comment.
Following is the steps
- Go to the cell where the comment is marked
- Right click (alternative click) the cell, then the alternative menu will be displayed
- Click “Show/Hide Comment”
Now the comment will always to shown.
